A performance dedicated to the spring and women on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. The main character of the performance is Maria Skłodowska-Curie.
About the performance
The premiere of the performance took place on 23rd May, 2017. The script was based on the motifs of the completely unknown letters of Maria Skłodowska-Curie which was collected and compiled by Artur Pałyga ("Dialog" No. 7-8, 2016). "It is the duty of art to put the simplest but also the most important questions about human fate" - this is the leitmotif of the latest performance of the Bosch Theater. In Artur Pałyga's play, Maria Skłodowska writes letters to herself. From her letters emerges a portrait of a radical woman - uncompromising and devoted to work. For Maria Skłodowska, scientific research is not an activity undertaken at certain times but the core of identity. Science is at the same time its way of seeing the world and the form of self-definition. In course of years of work on radioactive elements, she combines with her own work. "I feel like I'm lighting," she says. This confession is both metaphorical and painfully literal. It means as much as striving for sublimity which science gives, how much radiation-related illness the researcher will die for.
