Trafostacja Sztuki, public event
On September 14 in Zeromski Park there will be workshops for children, consisting of three parts: natural, visual and musical. Participants of the workshops along with ornithologist Dariusz Wysocki will go for a walk to get to know the life and habits of the winged inhabitants of the Żeromskiego Park. The architect Karolina Gołębiowska will prepare art workshops during which children will draw the title blue birds, inspired by poems written by Patrycja Tokarska and her 11 and 12 year old children: Pola and Ksawery, and Łukasz Kaniewski and his 11-year-old daughter Marianna. At the end of the workshop, Wojtek Blecharz will ask the children for a musical illustration of the singing of each bird, which will then be recorded and composed into a bird choir. The final result of the workshop will be presented on September 27 in the Art Trafostation.
Sound and hearing allow us to move to places where we are not or to imagine things we do not see. The Blue Birds Choir is an invitation to imagine the sound and name it, to distinguish the color and articulation or play onomatopoeia.
The key aspect of the Blue Birds Choir is not only the social aspect of the workshops, getting to know the real inhabitants of the park, but above all the discourse about sound, which is missing in society. Sound and hearing allow us to move to places where we are not or to imagine things we do not see. The Blue Birds Choir is an invitation to imagine the sound and name it, to distinguish the color and articulation or play onomatopoeia.
Julian Tuwim presented this latest brilliantly in his famous poem, writing about how radio straps can: peck, chirp, whistle, whine, chew, chew, corn, knock, chirp, hoot, wheeze, croak, cackle, chirp etc.
PARK-OPERA", although it is not performed in the operatic theater, contains all elements typical of its genre: singer, choir, ballet, orchestra, stage design, aria, recitative, binoculars for peeping, live animals on stage and even a piano concert. "PARK-OPERA" was commissioned by the Powszechny Theater in Warsaw and is composed for the sound and part of the Skaryszewski Park, located near the Powszechny Theater. The opera has been an experimental form since the dawn of time, combining various genres and fields of art. The word opera in Italian means "work." "PARK-OPERA" is work on sound, work on sound and through sound, opera about listening, listening to the environment, music of the park and the city. The Librett of the opera becomes Park Skaryszewski and its natural sound.
The new version of "7 Act of the Blue Bird Choir" was composed and adapted to the sound and specificity of the Żeromskiego Park in Szczecin.
"PARK-OPERA" is a project realized by the Powszechny Theater in Warsaw as part of the Festival of Art and Community of the Happy City. The Szczecin edition of the event is co-financed by the Szczecin City Council.
