24th September, 2018, 07.00 pm - 10.00 pm
Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin, 48 Małopolska Street
The Choir of the Maritime Academy in Szczecin has a great pleasure to invite you to the 5th edition of the original project of the Common Sounds (Polish: Wspólne Brzmienia). This time, special musical guests will be: Mikromusic, Skubas and Smolik.
This year's edition will take place under the banner of "The Common Souinds: Choir of the Maritime Academy in Szczecin & Mikromusic - Makrobrzmienia".
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of its activity, the choir invited an unconventional, charismatic group - Mikromusic. Their works are inspired by Slavic folk, jazz, rock and electronics. The band certainly owes its popularity to catchy, full of sensitivity texts by the gifted, enigmatic voice of singer Natalia Grosiak.
Songs such as "I do not want to" or "Such a boy" have been on the Top 3 charts for a long time, and Mikromusic has been nominated twice for the Fryderyk Award in the "Album of the Year Alternative" category. Their last album "I Do not Want It" was fully financed by the crowdfunding campaign, which testifies to the multitude of devoted fans that the band won over their years of activity.
Two other outstanding artists will also perform on stage - Andrzej Smolik and Skubas.
Smolik is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and one of the most recognized music producers in Poland. In addition to the production of songs and albums for other artists (such as: K. Nosowska, R. Gawliński, K. Krawczyk or Maria Peszek) he also publishes his own author / producer plates. The music of this artist is a combination of subtle electronics with very spatial sounds and original arranged melodies which perfectly fit into Skubas' acoustic-nostalgic and at the same time grunge art.
The whole will be complemented by unique interactive visualizations and instrumental-choral arrangements created especially for the needs of the event, which will combine seemingly different genres and styles of music with each other. Therefore, it is going to be a colorful and unique spectacle.
The choristers under the direction of Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch have repeatedly proved that they can break the stereotypes regarding choral music, which was confirmed by the success of previous editions of Common Voices. For several years, the band has been presenting surprising and diverse performances with the participation of both Polish and international artists. So far, the choir has played alongside, among others, Kuba Badach, Kayah, the Kroke band, the Grupa MoCart cabaret, Ireneusz Krosny or the Latin American choirs.
Tickets are available at PLN 55 and PLN 75 on the tickets and from the point of sale (CIKiT - Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin, small courtyard, entrance I)
The partner of the event is the Philharmonic Mieczysław Karłowicz in Szczecin. The project is co-financed by ENEA S.A., West Pomeranian Region and the City of Szczecin.
