We invite you to the Senior Movie Film Festival which will take place in the Szczecin Culture Incubator. Movies can be submitted until September 20. The organizer of the Festival is the Camera Association.

The Senior Movie Film Festival - the first edition - is the new formula of the festival on the map of film festivals in Poland. The festival is aimed at filmmakers in the retirement age, that is, over 60 years of age, recruited from amateur and independent cinema. The festival consists of a main competition and accompanying events in the form of discussions, lectures on film art, presentations of professional valuable film productions, meetings with invited guests from the film world, concerts, exhibitions, etc.

The Senior Movie film festival creates a platform for the presentation of film work of seniors. It gives them a chance to appreciate their creative struggles by other creators, by the audience, by their relatives. The festival in such a formula - i.e. for creators of 60 plus - may be the first place to present their work, it may facilitate and embolden the start in other festivals, stimulate further creation and competition with other filmmakers, from other age groups and perhaps on a different level of professionalism. Thanks to this, we can witness the birth of many outstanding film talents.

The festival is an opportunity to meet and integrate many environments: seniors of filmmakers, viewers of all ages, artistic circles of amateurs and professionals. Exchange of thoughts, opinions and the possibility of education are important factors for the integration of all environments.

The idea of The Senior Movie Festival grew out of a great desire to present on the public forum of the work of people of retirement age, whose passion is the film and the desire to hear what the seniors want to convey to us through their film statements. What message dominates in their accomplishments? The organizers want to ask themselves this question in the first edition of the festival. Is the film a medium to build an intergenerational transmission or is it a medium to capture important moments in life? What is the function of a film in seniors' work in general?

This will be the main motto and guiding idea of ??the first edition of the festival. We will get the answer to these questions when we review the submitted videos. This will be an important determinant for the discussion during the festival in talks with the creators and the audience.
