One of the youngest and most interesting monuments in Szczecin. It commemorates a public protest at Solidarności Square in Szczecin (December 1970), during which 16 people were killed and about 100 injured. There were strikes all over Poland related to higher prices for meat and food products. The monument was unveiled in 2005 on the 25th anniversary of the founding of NSZZ "Solidarity". It shows the figure of an angel with special inscriptions underneath and a memorial plaque with the names of the tragically deceased. Its designer is Czesław Dźwigaj. It is noteworthy that before the implementation of his idea, the city authorities wanted to erect several other sculptures on the site of the monument. However, no project was implemented. Another name for the monument is "Angel of Freedom".
