The statue of Hans Hartig stands on the market square in Nowe Warpno, in the vicinity of the town hall, near the entrance to the Sailors’ Avenue, next to a School Complex, about 43 km north-west from the center of Szczecin. Provincial road No. 114 runs here, and a bus provided by a private carrier Ever-Trans stops several dozen meters from here. The red bicycle trail "Puszcza Wkrzańska" and the green International Bicycle Trail R-66 around the Szczeciński Lagoon runs through the town and its vicinity.
The monument standing on the market square in Nowe Warpno commemorates the Hans Hartig, a famous German landscape painter and graphic artist, who in 1927 received the award of the Honorary Citizen of Nowe Warpno. Hartig made a significant contribution to the popularization of Nowe Warpno throughout Germany. In his paintings, he immortalized the town and its surroundings, thus making it famous and encouraging to visit it. The monument shows a standing figure of the painter facing the town hall. He is holding a paint palette in his left hand and a brush in his right hand. In front of the artist there is an easel with a painting with the town hall in it. Right next to it, there is a chair with a box on top of it, in which there are paints. The author of the monument, unveiled in 2013, is Bohdan Ronin-Walknowski.
