COMPETITION PERFORMANCE - Monodrama by Magdalena Drab. "Teatr Instead" Association

The painter Maria Wnęk (1922-2005) was not a graduate of the academy or a student of the great masters of the palette. She graduated only four classes and she was considered a poor person in her native village. As a painter she made her debut only in her forties. She claimed that she was to be painted by God herself whom she earnestly favored from an early age. Her expressive paintings - depicting mainly saints, and on the reverse of the artist's message to the world - are now found in the most important art brut art galleries around the world.
"Doughter of Mine, Announce It" - a rhythmic bulletin from the Maria Wnęk exhibition is an art that speaks about an extraordinary character as well as about the world that looks at it, about alienation and imagination, about real art and about how we perceive it. "It's a spectacle about different ways of looking at the world. About empathy and people who can not overcome the sense of superiority in relation to other people "(Magdalena Drab).
A monodrama prepared at the "Instead" Theater in Łódź was qualified for the finale of the 1st Competition for the Best Performance of the Independent Theater "The Best OFF" (2018).
