COMPETITION PERFORMANCE - Teatr im. W. Horzyca in Toruń
"Laugh, but leave this illusion to her,
That here is the Jewish and Christian unity,
And a Muslim - such a sweet dream! "
"Nathan sage" Gotthold Ephraim Lessing is a timeless story. The creators of the play is inscribed it in the contemporary context of the world in which religious divisions and conflicts are more and more visible. Lessing's work is a story about faith over the divisions: religious, racial, political, and the need for tolerance and recognition of equality of views. But is it possible to live in a multicultural society? Can a multi-faith compatible world be just a utopia? It was written in the eighteenth century. "Natan Sage" is a text that we need here and now.
