A dark and mature fairy tale about the passions of the human world and the harmony prevailing in the kingdom of nature.
The main protagonist of the prologue is a teenage Mermaid - daughter of water and the youngest of 4 sisters who gave up her happy fate because she loved the prince-man and decided to share his mortal fate. In this tale, a malevolent and unstable character is the prince who has found himself a different love, and he is giving us the first clear signal that the mortals in this story will play a bad role. On the wedding day of the beloved prince, Mermaid commits suicide by throwing herself off the cliff straight into the sea. However, her loving sisters begged God for grace and pity for the unfortunate mermaid. This, as part of turning back Syrence's life and letting him return to the sea, orders all sirens to fulfill 300 years of penance - all of them, because they turn into people and in this form they serve human children. The film begins with the last day of 300-degree penance. Day 21 June, summer solstice. Events quickly take on a mysterious, mystical turn.
We know from the beginning that something is wrong. We observe the water trembling under the fingers of women, scales permeating here and there through their skin and events that suggest that something obviously important will soon happen. It all begins when one of the sisters decides to say goodbye to the Earth and the last time to see people, especially arousing the powerful curiosity of fire and dance. He escapes from the manor house at the local Kupala Night in the evening. The Slavic festival of love awakens long-hidden desires in it. There is a tragedy that will change the fate of sirens forever.
