Marek Napiórkowski is a leading Polish guitarist and composer. From the beginning of his career he appears at the top of Polish rankings and continuously since 2012 with readers' votes Jazz Forum was elected Jazz Guitarist of the Year. He is appreciated by the industry and critics - ten times nominated for the prestigious Music Award of FRYDERYK in the Jazz Musician of the Year and Jazz Album of the Year categories.
During eighteen years of cooperation with Anna Maria, Jopek Napiórkowski participated in the artist's flagship projects being also her closest musical partner. Among the many joint projects from AMJ, Pat Metheny & Anna Maria Jopek "Upojenie" and the concert of "Upojenie" with Pat Metheny in the Congress Hall in Warsaw which is the culmination of this cooperation and is worth mentioning. "ID" and "Jo & Co" tours with Richard Bona, Mino Cinelu and Dhafer Youssef; joint concert with Ivan Lins and projects: "Polanna" with Gonzalo Rubalcaby and Gil Goldstein and "Sombremes" (in concert version) with the participation of loose musicians like Yami, Marito Marquez and Joao Balao.
As co-producer and author of most compositions, Dorota Miśkiewicz has been involved in the career for over a dozen years. He participated in countless projects and recordings of many artists.
The premiere material from the latest album of the guitarist "WAW-NYC", composed of illustrious representatives of the Warsaw and New York jazz scene: world-famous drummer - Clarence Penn, the sought-after Polish bassist - Robert Kubiszyn, nominated for the Grammy Award by pianist Manuel Valera and "The First Guitar of the Republic of Poland" - Marek Napiórkowski.
The album "WAW-NYC" brought Marek Napiórkowski two nominations for this year's Music Award of FRYDERYK: in the Jazz Album of the year and Artist of the year category.
