Biały Bór is a town located in the northern-eastern part of Szczecinek County 28.5 km north from Szczecinek. In Biały Bór there is a stop on the railway line between Piła Główna and Ustka. Biały Bór is a town situated between two lakes. At Łobez Lake from the north and at Bielsko Lake from the south.
The town constitutes the headquarters of the urban-rural municipality. The town was established in 1283 as a parish subject to the Archbishop from Gniezno. In 1382 it was granted municipal right and named Białobork. Up until 1466 the town was subject to the Teutonic Order, and then until 1772 it belonged to Royal Prussia of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. From that time the town was under Prussian domination until the end of the 2nd World War. During the war the town was fortified and it constituted a part of the fortifications of the Pomeranian Wall. On the Polish war map from 1936 next to the town mark the Polish exonym “Białybór” was provided. On the basis of this information in 1946 the town was names Biały Bór. Then in the 60’s of the 20th century in Biały Bór “Pan Wołodyjowski” was being filmed. The natural advantages of the town include the lakes with the beach and Biała River. The town is surrounded with thick forests. The touristic advantages of Biały Bór include mainly historic buildings. There are Ukrainian cultural and religious buildings, buildings connected to the history of the town and horse stables with a special track where you can go horse riding. In Biały Bór there is a Police Station, Municipal Police and the Volunteer Fire Brigade unit. The town has to clinics offering basic health care. The accommodation base and catering base is still developing. So is the touristic infrastructure. There are several touristic trails going though Biały Bór: cycling, walking, kayaking and horse riding trails.
