Jarosławiec is a town in the Postomino municipality, located by the Baltic Sea, approx. 19 km east from Darłowo, approx. 26 km north from Sławno. You can get there by car or by bus. Through Jarosławiec a red cycling trail “Hanzeatycka trasa nadmorska” [Hanseatic coastal trail] goes and a red walking trail which overlaps the cycling trail.
Jarosławiec is a well-known coastal town annually visited by numerous tourists. It has a rich accommodation base at any level. It is also a fishing village. Nearby there is Wicko Lake. Beaches with their magical sunsets are really charming, also due to the high cliffy coast. The height of the cliff can reach up to 30 m, and just behind it there are pine forests.
The first references about the town come from the 15th century. The village belonged to dukes of Szczecin, to the Darłowo domain. The residents were involved in fishing, agriculture and collecting amber. In 1830 the construction work of the first lighthouse was completed which was situated 400 m from the coast. The lighthouse quickly stopped functioning as a lighthouse as it was overshadowed by trees. At that time a 33.3-metre brick tower was built next to the building, which was allocated as apartments for lighthouse keepers. The lighthouse can be visited by tourists. There is a fountain and a bronze sculpture of a fisherman in front of it. In the 20th century the residents of Jarosławiec started to become involved in tourism. Touristic development of the town still continues, even though some residents are engaged in fishing. There is no fishing harbour, but only a pier.
In the town there is a school, a church, a health centre facility, a pharmacy, a branch of the post office, an exchange point, a multi-functional pitch, and a playground for children. The town offers various attractions for tourists. One of them is an aqua park – a complex of indoor and outdoor swimming pools with a surface area of approx. 1700 m2, and an indoor ski slope. This ski slope is an extraordinary band simulating snow cover. You can go skiing and snowboarding there. Another touristic attraction is the Museum of Amber located in the town centre. The museum in a very unique manner presents the history of amber, as well as numerous amber blocks. The atmosphere of the museum is highlighted by the play of light and sound. In summer various events are organized for tourists, of which the most popular one is the International Race on the Beach. The town is located within the Protected Landscape Area “The coast west from Ustka”.
