The temple is in the former church cemetery, of which there is no trace of it today. On three sides, the church is bordered by the following streets: Kościelna, Warszawska and Poprzeczna (formerly Szkolna Street), and from the fourth, from the main entrance, there is a direct access to the promenade that runs along the Nowe Warpno Lake, several dozen meters from the church.
History of the Church of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nowe Warpno dates to the second half of the 13th century, since then the temple has gone through a lot to be able to function as we admire it today. The church was destroyed during several fires and for a long time it regained its beautiful and dignified appearance, only to enlarge to its present size at the end of the 17th century. Throughout this period, until the end of World War II, services in the Protestant rite were held here, and only on August 15, 1946, the temple was solemnly consecrated as a Roman Catholic. Since then, the parish church fair has been celebrated on the anniversary of its consecration. It is quite a large church for such a small town, its capacity is about 4989 m2, it covers an area of about 406 m2. It is a single-nave structure in the form of an elongated rectangle. The western wall, where the main entrance is located, is adjoined by a high, soaring tower from the end of the 17th century, ending with a golden ball with a cross on the top. On the south side there is a second, side entrance to the temple, and on the north side, the sacristy adjoins the nave wall, which is entered from the east. Inside the church, there is an 18th-century organ on the gallery, and above the chancel, a 17th-century canopy with pictures of the four evangelists. A baptismal font from the 18th century is also installed in the temple. The entire equipment of the church is completed by a beautiful baroque altar from 1704 and the Chapel of St. John Paul II, in which there are the relics of the Polish Pope, solemnly introduced to the church on the Day of Saints Peter and Paul in 2012. In recent years, the temple has undergone a thorough renovation: the doors and windows have been replaced, the tower has been renovated, and new clocks have been attached, the roof was also renovated, and the façade was renovated by thoroughly cleaning and painting it. Two stones were placed in the vicinity of the temple, one of them - consecrated to the memory of Pope John Paul II, and the other to the memory of all deceased residents of Nowe Warpno. The current pastor of the parish in Nowe Warpno is Fr. Stanisław Drewicz. The parishes are subordinate to the branch churches in Karszno, Warnołęka, Podgrodzie and Myślibórz Wielki. Accessible for disabled people through the side entrance.
