Western Beach is in the northern part of Świnoujście. It stretches from the border with Germany in the west to the West Breakwater in the east.
The beaches in Świnoujście - Eastern and Western - are the widest in Poland and at the same time one of the most important attractions of the city. It stretches for 10 kilometers on the islands of Usedom and Wolin. It is difficult to precisely define the exact width because it grows every year. Currently, it is even 150 meters. This is a result of the abrasion of the island's shores and the drop in the water level in the sea caused by the wind that moves the water masses in the Baltic Sea. An interesting fact is that the areas that used to be a beach at the beginning of the 20th century are nowadays inland.
The beaches of Świnoujście attract crowds of tourists yearning for sun and bathing in the Baltic Sea every year, therefore the Świnoujście-Usedom bathing beach has been established. Since 2006, it has been awarded the Blue Flag certificate every year. This means that it meets the stringent requirements for water cleanliness, beach, and safety. Beach-goers have at their disposal water slides, trampolines, motorboats with a pontoon, jet ski rentals, showers, changing cabins and numerous cafes. In the summer season, the safety of bathers is guarded by qualified lifeguards. For the more active, a great option is a walk to the west, where you can visit the former imperial resort in Ahlbeck.
