Szczecin Underground Tourist Routes are extremely interesting for lovers of the Second World War. There is the largest air-raid shelter in Poland, intended for civilians. It was built during the Second World War on the site of the former 18th century fortifications. Its area is approx. 3 thousand m2. The walls of the bunker are made of reinforced concrete and are approx. 3 m thick. During air raids, this place gave shelter to 5,000 people. The shelter has been open to visitors since 2006 and offered guided walks on two thematic routes "World War II" and "Cold War of the People's Republic of Poland". Sightseeing routes are rich in various types of exhibits, and in individual places, thanks to a specialized sound system, sirens and sounds associated with the life of the shelter are played.
Due to the reconstruction of the main station, the entrance to the Underground Tourist Routes was moved to Zawiszy Czarnego Square.
