The Boy with a Harmony Fountain is at Szymanowskiego Street behind the City Hall, in front of Jasne Błonia, near the monument of Pope John Paul II. There are numerous parking spaces available nearby (red zone). Bus no. 70 (stop: City Hall) stops in the immediate vicinity.
The fountain was built in 1927. It was made by the sculptor Hermann Hosaeus from Berlin. Sudeten sandstone was used for it. The fountain consists of a decorative bowl in the form of a shell on which a large catfish is placed. There is a hole in its mouth for the escaping water. Above the fountain you can see the figure of a naked boy holding a harmony in his hand. One of his legs is significantly extended in relation to the other. On the left-hand plinth, there is an inscription commemorating the author. The monument has been reconstructed twice.
