Parish Church of Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima is located on the right bank of Szczecin, at Rydla Street, as well as by national road No. 10. There are numerous shopping centers nearby.
The church bearing the call of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary is in the Słoneczne estate in Szczecin. It was created because of the growing needs of the local community of believers for convenient access to priesthood care and religious practice. The parish was erected by an appropriate decree on January 14, 1985. Before the main building of the church was built, the faithful used the chapel of St. Kazimierz. Also there, on November 21, 1985, a statue of the Virgin Mary, brought from Fatima itself, was temporarily placed. Somewhat later, on January 1, 1986, during a special ceremony, Bishop Kazimierz Majdański enthroned the figure. An unusual event for the parishioners was the visit of Pope John Paul II, who on June 11, 1987, crowned Our Lady nomine et auctoritate Summi Pontificis. Mary came to the newly built temple on August 15, 1988. It is worth mentioning that the wooden figure measures 120 cm and is a gift of the Marian movement from the United States and France, known as the Blue Army of Mary.
