Defensive walls are located around the city's perimeter.
The walls were built at the turn of the 13th-14th centuries. They were built by decision of 1286. The walls have survived to the present day. From the outside, the line of the walls was protected by earth embankments and a moat. The embankments and the moat were removed in the 18th century. In the 19th century, the foregates were also pulled down.
The present condition of the walls reflects its appearance from 1868. That is, from the time when the internal gates and part of the half-towers were also destroyed. The French Tower from the 14th-15th centuries has been preserved. The entrance to the tower is located in the elevation parallel to the defensive walls.
